My Top 10 Favorite Looks from Elie Saab's Spring 2014 Fashion Show

My Dearest Beauties,

Elie Saab called it "A Lace Garden" and I think it was the most perfect description. The collection was all about natural flower colors translated in beautiful and on point lace. Even the black pieces which evidently don't take part in a garden looked like they blended perfectly with the femininity and prominent delicateness of the whole collection.

I will let my favorite looks speak for themselves, because in my opinion the looks are more eloquent speakers of their own beauty. The looks are all in order of appearance and were retrieved from Style.com.

What are your thoughts on Elie Saab's work?

Quick Outfit of the Day: A Boho Feel

My Dearest Beauties,

I called this outfit "A Boho Feel" purely because it makes me feel a tinge bohemian. You may not see it that way but from the moment I put this skirt on, I felt boho. This look is out of my comfort zone but thankfully I felt pretty confident in it. It made me feel different, which is always a plus, I think! The skirt is so girly and delicate. It is form fitting but loose but comfy at the same time. Can you already tell I'm obsessed? A lot of times, I would fall in love with a piece of clothing but would never even be motivated to try it. Don't commit to that! If you like it, try it, only then you can truly judge.

The cropped top was another thing that was absolutely out of my comfort zone. I am really self conscious when it comes to showing some skin and with this look, showing some tummy was a given. I still feel a little uncomfortable with it but I guess with more exercise and hard work, I will feel a bit less self conscious about it.

I need to stop rambling about my insecurities and start giving you the outfit details.

Quick Outfit of the Day or Night: Lacey Pants

My Dearest Beauties,

I was planning to wear this outfit in the day time. But the other night, I went out for dinner and drinks. I was super excited to wear this pair of pants so I gave it a go. I thought that if I paired it with a smokey eye and a statement necklace, it would look good. So, that is what I did. I think it turned out pretty good.

I bought this outfit from a boutique close to where I live, called Vanilla Room located in the main road of Doha Aramoun. They carry a really nice selection of Turkish fashion worth checking out.

The smokey eye that I did is the one I once did a pictorial on. Link is below if you are interested.

Airport Shirt (Vanilla Room)
Koton Pants (Vanilla Room)

This is how I convert a simple daytime outfit into a night time look. I always think of the bigger picture. What do you think? What do you use to give your daytime outfit an evening and glamorous feel?

Zara Statement Necklaces Lovin'

My Dearest Beauties,

I recently have been loving statement necklaces. They are so versatile, they can elevate a simple outfits, completely, to the next level. Make your LBD look like a completely new dress or even convert your white shirt and jeans daily outfit into a night on the town kind of look. This season, I have been loving how Zara translated their understanding of a statement necklace to the world.  Here are my top three:

I actually already picked up the last piece. I will show you how I wear it in an outfit of the day. I love these different and striking pieces, but I would love to know what you think of them. Tell me in the comments below if you would dare to go bold with these lovely necklaces.

Quick Outfit of the Day: Almost Camouflage Print and Denim

My Dearest Beauties,

Camouflage is so in this season and I am loving it. But, some of us ladies like to climb the style ladder very slowly, and wearing army green is a very good first step. You will make up your mind of whether or not you are up to the real deal. I personally looked for the pants that had the most of an army feel to them, pockets every where and thick material.

As you can see I decided to leave the whole outfit looking very boyish. I balanced out the boyishness and made it feminine with the shoes and the pop of color of the handbag. The mirrored shades are very in and made the look go from all season round to instantly summer season.

This is a look that you can sport everyday; it is stylish, easy and comfortable. It quickly makes you look very pulled together without looking one bit boring. The best part is that you can upgrade these pants to a camo print and turn heads everywhere. As a last thought for you ladies out there, whether you are 20 or 50, rocking this will leave you looking chic and youthful.

Reem's Outfits: Pink and Tribal

My Dearest Beauties,

Reem is all about shorts for summer. Dressing them up or down is what she loves to do. She decided to pair tribal print shorts with a delicate pink blouse. Meshing classic with tribal. Unique, I find.

An Innovative Way to Shampoo your Hair

My Dearest Beauties,

Almost a month ago I was watching some TV and stumbled upon the Style Network, which I totally love. While I was at it, a Hollywood celebrity hair stylist was giving out a shampooing tip. I liked the tip and decided to try it out and see if what he was saying was true. It turns out he was totally right and now that is the only way I am shampooing my hair.

He was talking about how us women usually shampoo our hair from the scalp right down to the very tips of our hair. He said that the trick to maintain healthier ends is to only shampoo your hair from the scalp and up for about eight centimeters or maybe a little more if you have really long hair. This ensures that you are clearing off all the natural sebum and product that accumulates around the scalp and the areas close to it. You may be asking yourself, what about the ends of my hair? Well, as you rinse off the shampoo it will come down and clean off your tips gently. Once you are done, proceed with your preferred conditioner on the lengths of your hair away from your scalp.

Why adopt this way? First, because you avoid over drying your ends and leaving them stripped out of moisture. The natural sebum production only really happens at the roots and as your hair grows longer the tips only get moisture from the products you use on them. Second, you will be avoiding the knots that are caused by shampooing the old fashioned way. Your hair will be left more manageable and you will experience less breakage when brushing through it.

As I said, I started shampooing this way a month ago, and let me tell you my ends feel less dry and they are absolutely more manageable. I love it! This also means that you will be using less product which means you can enjoy your (expensive) hair treatments for longer.

If you are one of those ladies that needs a lot of products to sport beautiful hair but still want to try this amazing new way of shampooing then make sure you shampoo the usual way ones a week to clear off the product build up.

Would you try this? I really recommend it!

Reem's Outfits: Casual Skater Skirt

My Dearest Beauties,

Reem comes to us today with the skater skirt. It is on trend and can easily be dressed up or down depending on where you are going. It is definitely a must have for this season. The skater skirt is not only a very versatile piece but it is also very flattering, because it accentuates the waist and hides some of our lower body imperfections. You can find them in lots of colors and fun prints from the most chic to the most girly. Colors and prints are not all, some have more body than others. It is all about finding the skirt that makes you feel confident and that fits you like it was custom made.

Reem's wearing:
H&M Skirt and T-Shirt
Steve Madden Sandals
H&M Headband and Accessories

Are you in for skater skirts? What do you think of the way Reem took it on?

I am a big fan of skirts all together, I am still in the hunt for the one skater skirt that fits me best, because like any other piece the secret is the fitting.

Much love,

Samar
