Moisturizer for Oily Skin - Uriage Hyseac Restructurant

My Dearest Beauties,

During the colder months even the oiliest of skins get dry and flaky. Unfortunately, as oily people we cannot just throw on any face moisturizer because we risk looking like a disco ball, or worse, we risk having a sliding makeup party.

Thankfully I have stumbled upon a solution. I will not talk about this product much I will leave it for you to try it and judge how well it works! It is a soothing cream with a matte finish that doesn't feel like silicone, it actually gets absorbed really quickly and you are left with amazing skin, period!

I have been using this for a long time, on and off. I always go back to it because it works really well with my skin. Obviously, different skins need different types of products but I think this one is worth trying. Mind, I am not a dermatologist, I just like to share products that seem of really high quality and effectiveness.

Much love,

Tag: I ♥ Winter

My Dearest Beauties,

I was tagged by the lovely Aline from the blog Nouchaline. Make sure to go and check her out, her blog is beyond cute. It is my first tag post; I really hope you enjoy reading it, if you do, then I tag you to leave your answers in the comment section.

Let's jump right in!

1. Favorite Winter Nail Polish?
I actually have two that are quite similar. I love Sally Hansen's Red Carpet and I am also obsessed with Samoa's Diva.

2. Favorite Winter Lip Product?
It has got to be the Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick in the shade 107. It is that same shade she has on the ads.

3. Most Worn Winter Clothing Piece?
I hate to say it but, during winter I live in my UGGs. They are not the most fashionable, they are not even very appealing to the eye, but they definitely are the most snuggly and warm. Oh and my J. Crew leggings which are as comfy as leggings but are thick enough to fit as pants and hide flaws.

4. Most Worn Winter Accessory?
Well, I'm going to go for what I've been obsessing over this winter. I'm always sporting Zara beanies.

5. Favorite Winter Scent/Candle?
Dolce & Gabbana The One and Dior Miss Dior. I also love to burn orange peels on the stove. Oh and Rose Jam Shower Gel by Lush.

6. Favorite Winter Beverage?
I sure drink Matte like nobody's business!

7. All Time Favorite Christmas/Holiday Movie?
I think I love the Grinch.

8. Favorite Christmas/Holiday Song?
Mariah Carey's All I want for Christmas is you. I sing it a LOT during this time of the year.

9. Favorite Holiday/Food/Treat?
Lindt Christmas chocolates, of course! And Pan de Jamon that we always had during the holidays in Venezuela. My mom still makes it here, it is delish!

10. What is your Favorite Decoration this Year?
I always fall in love with the decorations at ABC Achrafieh.

11. What's at the Top of your Christmas List?
Definitely cheesy, but my fiancé. He currently lives abroad.

12. What are your Plans for the Holidays?
Well, a lot of family time.

Thanks a lot Aline for tagging me. I had lots of fun thinking about the answers.

Don't forget that I tag all of you, leave your answers in the comments.

Much love, Stay warm and Happy New Year,

Young Wilderness: A Fun Online Shopping Experience

My Dearest Beauties,

I recently stumbled upon this amazing new lebanese online shop where you can find some pretty cool and fun pieces. They have very unique items to pick from, if you are all about being unique then Young Wilderness is the place for you. Do your shopping from the comfort of, well, anywhere and pay at your doorstep.

Hiba and Yasmine welcomed me into their office to get a glimpse into the YW community. Their professional background is faraway from fashion but their unconventional style is what inspired taking a step into the fashion industry. They are not designers but get inspiration for the prints from things they like and all sorts of pictures that catch their attention.

YW doesn't only offer unique prints and pieces but you can also find an amazing selection of vintage pieces that were hunted down from the tiniest places around Lebanon and abroad. Many of the pieces have never even been worn and other than having fashionable value they are also very special to Hiba and Yasmine.

Hiba and Yasmine plan to keep free delivery and pay at the door as long as it is feasible in Lebanon. They are also looking to expand to more countries around the MENA region as soon as they master the business and have everything ready and in line.

I personally love how devoted and dedicated these ladies are to the brand (and community) they are building. You will notice from the names of the pieces, the styling tips and even their social media platforms. The service is really efficient and you will have your order within a maximum of two days.

Go check it out!

Quick Tip: Night Time Skin Care

My Dearest Beauties,

I don't know if you have ever noticed the little buttons under every single blog post that say funny, interesting and cool. Well, if you haven't, now you all know about them. I thought that I would start sharing very quick, weekly beauty and style tips on the blog. So if you like the idea, please press check on the cool button to let me know that the quick tip idea is actually one that you all care for.

Without further due, the tip this week is about night time skin care.

Place and organize your makeup remover and skin care products (everything from eye cream to foot repairing lotion) on your bed side table so that you don't ever forget or get too lazy to do these very essential duties. You would not only be improving your nightly skin care regimen but also, building on a good habit that will stay with you all your life and one you will be thankful for, later on.

This has worked for me and I hope it will work for you too. That was all, this week, until next time always smile!

Love,

Samar

Master Cleanse Lemonade Diet with Magie Tamraz

My Dearest Beauties,

Magie, recently, brought in a new fast diet that will let you shed those extra unwanted kg's in a matter of eight days. The Master Cleanse Lemonade diet is very popular among Hollywood celebs and is made up of lemon juice, maple syrup, goji berry, acai berry, noni berry and cayenne pepper. You are supposed to have four cups a day accompanied with fruits and veggies for eight days and see the results quickly!!

The results are extraordinary:

  1. Burns Fat
  2. Curbs appetite because of all the berries in it
  3. Cleasnes and Detoxifies
  4. Vitamins B6 and B12 give you a lot of energy for a LOT of activites
  5. Promotes digestive health (less bloating and gases)
  6. Last but not least the ultimate and the most important: Weight Loss
Each cup contains 60 calories and you are supposed to dissolve an ounce (or 28g) in 250 ml of water for each serving. It balances out your pH levels which is very good for maintaining the weight off and working on losing a bit more.

So, depending on your weight you can shed anything from 2 to 8 kg. This makes it the easiest and fastest way to get rid of any weight you put on from any vacation, holiday, and/or trip. You can also use it right before summer to get bikini ready. And of course this is heaven if your are a bride to be and want to look extra slender for your special day.

How to Pull Mac's Saint Germain Lipstick Off

My Dearest Beauties,

The Saint Germain lipstick by Mac is very popular and it is also, in my opinion, not so easy to pull off. I have a little technique to make it look really pretty and still have that very light color and blue under tone.

Use Dali's lip liner in the shade No 55. Line your lips and fill in the corners. Think of making an ombre effect that fades in the center.

Dab the lipstick straight from the bullet. Once you have the intensity that you desire then proceed to rub your lips onto each other, think that you want to make the lipstick stick to your lips and blend with the lipliner.

You'll be left with a lovely and delicate powder pink shade on your lips. I love to wear this combo in winter because of it's cool undertones.

Much love,

New to Bleached Hair - My New Haircare Routine

My Dearest Beauties,

You may have noticed that I jumped on the ombre bandwagon. When I thought bleach, I ran to the supermarket and looked for what was the most easily available product for taking care of damage prone hair. I immediately thought of L'Oreal's Elvive line, because they never disappoint me.

So my newest hair routine is to wash my hair with my Lush's solid shampoo, and then use the Elvive Anti-Breakage Deep Repair Treatment Tube all over my roots. I leave that on for a minute as directed on the bottle and oh my god this stuff makes your hair silky smooth! It seriously acts instantly which is what you most definitely need when you have bleached hair. Anyway, once I am done showering I towel dry my hair very carefully and then go in with around three pumps of Elvive Extraordinary Oil. I use this to ease brushing through my hair and decrease breakage. This product is not only almost weightless but also good to use as a heat protectant which again is essential to brittle and delicate hair.

I love this routine because with only two products I am getting the benefits of four. I get conditioner and mask in one with the treatment tube and I get brushing and heat protection from the oil. You will be set to go quickly without any worries.

I hope you can capture the textures of the products from this shot below. The transparent liquid is the oil and the pink liquid is the treatment.

That is how my hair looks after using the products and styling with hot tool. On a side note, you cannot really see how light my hair is from this picture but I hope you can see that it is healthy.

What do you think of this haircare routine? Share with me in the comments.

Samoa Warm & Glossy Nude Lip

My Dearest Beauties,

So, I got some goodies sent to me from Samoa and this little lipgloss (and the other lip product) has not left my bag since. I LOVE it! It feels a lot like a high end lip gloss and also acts like one. I mean that you get great color pay off and longevity. I really enjoy this nude tone that could be worn on its own or layered on top of lipsticks. It is beautifully shiny without being gritty and glittery, which a lot of drugstore/high street lip glosses can be. So this is a beautiful product for those of you on a budget or even if you are just looking for a great value for money product. Again, this lip gloss definitely feels of high end quality.

In the picture I opted to wear it full on, so I layered three good coats of it to get that effect. This nude shade is very fit for the colder months since it is warmer than the usual pale and matte nude lip. I cannot wait to see all the color selection and pick up some more shades.

It is from the Catwalk by Samoa Cosmetics range in number 356 Bois de Rose.

I also have Samoa eyeshadows on. So if you are interested in knowing what I did, tell me in the comments and I will sure share it with all of you.

Much love,

Samar

Trending Shoes Obsession - Sophia Webster

My Dearest Beauties,

I love watching E!, the tv channel. They have a fun show called The Fashion Police, I love the fashion but I really enjoy watching the show because of how funny Joan Rivers is. Anyway, I had spotted these shoes on some celebrities, among them Rihanna and I thought they are the coolest pair of shoes I've spotted recently. On one of the episodes they talked a bit about them and right there and then I cleared my doubts.

They are candy colored and have a fun stylish design that seems like it would be comfortable to walk in. The pair is actually called the Riri Leather Sandal.

If you live in Lebanon and would like to get your hands on these babies or any other Sophia Webster design then head over to the Plum store in Down Town.

What are your thoughts on these shoes? Tell me in the comments!

Travel Shampoo - Lush Solid Shampoo

My Dearest Beauties,

Solid shampoo! Yes, you got it right! It is not only one of the coolest products I have used but also a very practical one. You can easily wrap this baby up in some paper and drop it in your suitcase without having to worry about it exploding and ruining your much loved clothes.

Lush offers a variety of these for different hair needs and they act as good as any other typical liquid shampoo. I do have to say that it is very effective in cleaning, so much so that it will leave your hair squeaky clean, literally! So just pack your favorite conditioner or even go ahead and try the solid conditioners from Lush. I personally use this solid Shampoo with Retread which is a heavy traditional conditioner from Lush. They work perfectly with each other, they are good at balancing each other out. One more reason to buy this shampoo is that you can use it as a clarifying shampoo. Use it once per week to really clear your hair from all the products you use on it throughout the week. Clarifying shampoos help your hair get it's shine and vitality back.

When the shampoo is dry there is noway it will be staining or making anything dirty around it. But when you work with it under running water, it instantly foams into an amazing cloud. Last but not least, you will not believe how long this bar will last you. I have been using mine for about two months, I don't think I have gone through half of it yet.

I personally think that this product is a must try and a must have. What do you think?

Autumn/Winter Smokey Eye for Hazel/Brown Eyes

My Dearest Beauties,

Plums and dark warm browns are really in this season. They are not only beautiful colors to use for a smoldering smokey eye but they are also very flattering against hazel and brown eyes. If you have been reading my blog for a long time you may have seen my lovely cousin in a previous makeup pictorial, see it here. So, without further due, I am going to try to explain the steps to achieving this look.

I started off by applying Clinique's Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup, concentrating on the center of the face and diffusing it with my fingers to the edges and neck. I concealed the under eye circles and highlighted the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, center of the forehead chin and cupid's bow with Maybelline's DreamLumi Touch Highlighting Concealer. I don't rub this on the skin but I rather tap it away until it is undetectable. Applying a highlighting concealer helps to sculpt and lift the face which gives more dimension. I set all of that liquid makeup with translucent powder in order to keep the face as fresh as possible. My favorite is Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre applied with Real Technique's Blush Brush.

The key to a great eye makeup is layering. I like to start off by applying a creamy or gel type product. For that I heat the tip of my Dali pencil in Electric Mauve just a tiny bit with a kitchen lighter. This transforms it into a gel that will easily glides onto the eyelid without having to tug or pull on this delicate area. Once I apply it on the eyelid and lower lash line, I blend the edges with the warmth of my fingertips. I then pack the lovely and matte MaxFactor Mono Eye Shadow in Dark Plum #8 using an Ecotools flat shadow brush. Once again, blend, blend, blend. I love to line the upper and lower waterline of the eye with an intense Dali Black Pencil. The combination of the glittery and shimmery base with the matte shadow gives a dimensional and interesting finish to the eyes.

I take the lightest eyeshadow color in the Benefit's Cabana Glama palette and apply it to the inner corner of the eyes to bring light and open them up. I, then, use the Real Technique's Duo Fibre Eye Brush with Hoola bronzer from the same palette and blend it just over the plum color to wrap the smokey eye up and make the lovely Lorena almost look like she was born with a smokey eye on.  I also go in with the the Real Technique Duo Fibre Contour brush with Hoola again, this time I use it along the hair line, a little on the temples and on the sides of the nose to warm Lorena's complexion up.

To finish the skin off I use a very fresh and shimmery blush, on the cheeks blending it up towards the temples, from Benefit called Coralista using again a Real Techniques Duo Fiber Face Brush. Duo fiber brushes are great because they allow you to build up color slowly which helps you avoid applying too much product. Remember that it is easier to put more that to take off.

I then go on and fill in the lips with this amazing Seventeen lip pencil and then add a little shine with Dior's clear gloss. Last but not least, is L'oreal Lash Architect Waterproof Mascara on the top and bottom lashes. A smokey eye calls for a LOT of mascara. I didn't show it, but I did use some Samoa Clear mascara on the eyebrows to ensure they are not moving around.

This last picture was taken with the camera's flash on to see if the makeup passes the picture test. Help me be the judge. Tell me what you think on the comments below.

Remember that you can use any products that you have at home to achieve this look. In case you are to buy any of these, know that I only use my trusted products for makeup pictorials. I hope you found this fun and useful.

Much love,

Samar
