Reem's Outfits: Orange & Blues

My Dearest Beauties,

Reem comes to us today with a really fun and light outfit that you can wear on a weekend afternoon out with friends, to the mall, to go have easy brunch, you name it!

Reem is wearing a merino wool sweater from J. Crew. The shorts and floral scarf are from Mango. Boots from Steve Madden and her Fossil Rose Silver watch.

She wrapped it all off with an animal print belt from Calvin Klein and some silver nail polish by Seventeen.

This outfit is very simple yet very fun. Spring time is the best time to play with colors. Give it a try!

Much love,

Makeup Tutorial: Pop of Green

My Dearest Beauties,

Last night as I was getting ready for a night out I thought I would take step by step pictures of my makeup so that I could share it with you all. Green is in for this spring makeup season. It is very easy to add a pop of color without being too dramatic or making yourself look like you just got punched in the face. I hope you like the look, recreate it and please feel free to share it with me. I would love to see your take on this simple and fun look.

I started with base and concealer on a moisturized face. Again I used Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfection Foundation. You might begin to notice that this is one of my favorite foundations. As for concealer I used Makeup Forever Full Cover in shade number five. I also filled in my brows with a dark brown eye shadow from the All I Ever Wanted palette by NYX cosmetics.

I then went in for the eyes. I started by defining my crease with the light brown color. After that I filled in the outer three quarters of my lid and my lower lash line with the shimmering green shade. I then went on for a gold tear dot high light. All shadows used are from the All I Ever Wanted palette.

After that I lined my upper and lower water line with black waterproof pencil liner by Dior. With that same pencil I lined my upper lash line from the middle out with a flick. I then used an angled brush with some black shadow from the same palette and went all over the liner in order to set it and make it smudge proof.
I, then, used a very light blusher on the apples of my cheeks and some highlighter on my cheekbones. I didn’t want to go for a very strong cheek and lip because it would all turn out to be a bit overpowering.

I lined my lips with Dali lip pencil in number 60 and applied a light lip gloss from the same palette.
I finished the look with a ton of L’oreal Black Lacker Mascara, a dusting of Poudre Universelle Compacte by Chanel all over my face and a good mist of Mac Fix+.

The Best Way to Shave your Legs

My Dearest Beauties,

Shaving can become a hassle if it isn’t done the right way. We all have to get ready for summer clothing and sporting beautiful and silky legs. For that reason, I thought today I would share with you how I shave my legs and get impeccable results.

In these three steps you will get the smoothest legs ever:

1.      Exfoliate: it is very important that a day before shaving your legs you go over with a good quality scrub. Exfoliating is good for getting the layers of dead cells off and getting the hair follicles ready for what is to come. My favorite body scrub is Clarins Smoothing Body Scrub for a New Skin. The exfoliating bamboo particles prepare your skin for further procedures. An added bonus to this product is the soft but natural smell.

2.      Shave: the secret to a very good shave is having a product of right texture to let your razor glide on your skin like it would ski down slopes. After trying lots of shaving creams I came across the best and cheapest way. I use Johnson’s Baby Oil. It works wonders whether you shave in the direction of the hair or against it. Your razor will just work like a dream. Now, for the actual razor try not to use it more than four to five times. It is essential that you disinfect it after each use (with a bit of alcohol) and keep it away from water once you’re done. These are my doctor’s orders. My favorite razors are from the Gillette Venus line, any of them will work great.

3.      Moisturize: ones you are done and out of the shower it is crucial that you moisturize with a body cream and not just a lotion. Before, I go on with cream I splash a bit of alcohol all over my legs to avoid any infected follicles. Ones that is done I go on with tons of cream. I love to use one that I get from my local supermarket that is very affordable but of really good quality and very effective. It is called Babaria Body Milk. They have it in a variety of scents and textures.

Once I started going through these steps, I started noticing that I do not get itchy skin and barely ever get those little infected follicles that I’m sure annoy all of us.

Try it and tell me if you like it in the comments.

Much love,

Chitchat: My Weight Loss Journey

My Dearest Beauties,

I think this might be one of the hardest posts to write for me. As the title implies I will be walking you through my days as an obese person and the way I lost the weight. The truth is that till this day I love food. I love to eat! I grew up in a home full of great cooks from my grandmas to my mother and aunts. I loved to eat and my love developed into some kind of addiction. I was never satisfied not with my food not with my looks. I tried many diets. I tried many workouts. My mother supported me to the point that she used to go on the regimes with me. I always started on good foot but my enthusiasm didn’t last long enough. By the time I was 16 I felt really desperate. I wanted to look, dress and feel like all those other girls my age. I wanted to wear all those amazing outfits I put together in my imagination. For that reason I started to look into a procedure called gastric band. I asked my parents for their consent and finally looked for a really good doctor and had the procedure done. Unfortunately, the weight loss didn’t come like in my dreams. A year later I realized that no matter what I did the diet and the workout had to come in play. My first efforts were to cut down on all junk food and soda drinks and started moving a little more. I signed up for belly dancing classes as I find the dance very exciting and artistic. Very slowly, I started to see the difference and as the changes came along my enthusiasm grew. I started to cut down on calories and kept going strong with my dance classes. In two years I was looking good, I was looking the way that I wanted to. I started to experiment with fashion and makeup the way I wanted to. As shallow as it may sound it became a dream come true to play with different fashion pieces. Wearing a tight pair of jeans without feeling like I looked ridiculous became one of the biggest comforts. As my confidence accumulated I started to appreciate fashion more and more, looking my best on all occasions became a goal. After being a goal it became a really good habit. Now, my gastric band is removed and taking care of me inside and out is a priority in my life. I have learnt over the few years of my life that whatever you put out there to the universe is what you get in return. So always give a good face be kind and graceful and it will all return to you without you even noticing.
As for how I maintain my weight and shape now, well be in the lookout for that post! I think I have a lot of interesting things to share with you all.

Much love,

Makeup Tutorial: Spring Staple

My Dearest Beauties,

Today I come to you with an easy and fun spring make up look. This look will get you glammed up and out the door in no time. Here are the simple steps and effective products I used on my cousin Lorena who kindly volunteered to be my model for this look.
I started with a clean and moisturized face. Moisturized skin interacts better with products and for that I used La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Legere.

With that done I applied a very thin layer of Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfection Foundation. I then went on to conceal any blemishes and dark circles using my very favorite Makeup Forever Full Cover concealer. All of the face products were applied and blended with clean fingers.

After that I went on to work on the eyes. I used a light dusting of eye shadow by Estee Lauder in shade Twilight #14. I then went ahead and lined the upper lash line and the inner rims of the eye with a black eyeliner pencil by Dior. I decided to smudge that pencil up to the crease to make it softer and younger.
I then went on and lined the lower lash line and inner corner with Dali eyeliner pencil in the shade Electric Bronze. I gave the lashes a really good curl and applied tons of L’oreal Black Lacquer Mascara.

I finalized the look with a dusting of Chanel Poudre Universelle Compact face powder on the T zone and some blusher by Chanel in the shade 99 Rose Petale.
For lips you can go for a light gloss like the one I applied on Lorena. I used Rouge Dior Crème De Gloss in #255.

But if you are a little more daring you can go for something bright and fun like this beautiful fuchsia shade by Ebel in shade Fucsia Splendide.

Last but not least I sprayed some Mac Fix+. Et voila! There you have it, easy and flattering spring make up.
Makeup is a fun and easy way to change your look from season to season. Give it a try!

Much love,

Quick Outfit of the Day: Saturday Late Lunch

My Dearest Beauties,

Here comes another very springy look. I am currently loving the denim shirt trend and here is another manifestation of it. It is very easy to pair it with colored jeans and skirts. I wore this outfit to go out for a very late lunch with my man.

I am wearing American Eagle denim shirt paired with French Connection nude jeggings.

My pumps are from Maria Pino and my bag from Michael Kors. I chose to go for a simple golg bracelet from J. Crew.

For makeup I wore a bright but subtle lipstick with black eyeliner smudged into a shimmery eyeshadow.

Spring is a fun time to play with color. Give it a try!

Much Love,

Reem's Outfits: Embracing Trend

My Dearest Beauties,

Reem strikes again, this time with spring written all over her! Spring is here and Reem wants to share with us an outfit she’ll be wearing for her afternoon hangout with friends. Denim shirts are one of the trends that Reem likes a lot and this is one of the many ways she likes to style it. It is so versatile and fun, you can tie it up, leave it down or even wear it as a shirt paired with fun bottoms.

Reem is wearing H&M sundress, denim shirt from Zara and a pair of white converse sneakers.

She is wearing a bracelet from Swarovski and makeup from Sephora (mascara, blush & lipstick). She chose to go for a vibrant fuchsia color to incorporate some more spring into the outfit.
Denim shirt plus a floral sundress. Would you try it?
Much love,

Quick Outift of the Day: Welcoming Spring

My Dearest Beauties,

I have to start by saying Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely mothers out there. We would be nothing without our Mama's wisdom and support. Anyway today is the first day of spring, thus I thought I would share with you my outfit to take my mother out on a fun lunch on the occassion.

I chose to go for a pop of color to give spring a warm welcome!

I am wearing J. Crew silk shirt paired with Salsa Wonder Jeans. For shoes I am wearing black studded Zara kitten heels.

I went for a simple Salvatore Ferragamo bag and all silver jewelery.

I especially love this pair of jeans because they have special qualities to fight gravity! They push up my bum and I end up feeling like I have Kim Kardashian's derriere.

Spring is my favorite season to play dress up because of all the colors and my favorite weather all throughout the year here in Lebanon.

Have fun playing with colors and textures this spring.

Love,

Skin Care: My Secret Face Scrub Potion

My Dearest Beauties,

Before I introduce to you my favorite face scrub, I have to start with a disclaimer. I am by no means a dermatologist and I am just giving you my honest opinions on this natural and easy procedure. This is what works for me after lots of trials and errors. I hope you try it and like it! J

We ladies sometimes feel like our skin is not looking its best. Using a face scrub brings back that luminosity that we sometimes lack. A facial scrub exfoliates and puts away the outermost layer of dead skin cells that are keeping us from our best. I have acne and I am always concerned about exfoliation; first because some of the ingredients in the scrubs could break me out and second because I need a product that doesn’t leave my skin stripped of its moisture. My dermatologist always raves about how good almond oil is for very dry and flaky skin. From that I got the idea of using almond oil as a mask from time to time. We all have sugar at home and sweet almond oil is very easy to get hold of from any pharmacy.

Anyway here are the steps to facial wonderland:

1.      Start with a clean face

2.      Apply a good tablespoon of sweet almond oil onto your face and neck and massage gently onto your skin. Don’t be afraid to add more if you need it.

3.      Dab some sugar onto your fingertips and massage it very gently in circular motions all over your face and neck avoiding the eye area. You will need around a teaspoon of sugar.

4.      Once you’re done with gently scrubbing all the surface area, you go ahead and clean it all off with a warm wet cloth.

I suggest you do this no more than ones a week during the evenings before your night skin care routine. This natural and cheap scrub will leave your skin feeling soft, moisturized and with a glow that comes from within. It gets rid of any flakiness on my skin left by dry spots. I find that my makeup glides on beautifully when I exfoliate with this mixture. Even on those days when I don’t have time to throw on a full face of makeup and decide to go for a quick dusting of face powder; I feel like the powder doesn’t sit on any dry patches because they are minimized by the scrub.

I may have to warn you of the facial orgasm you will be getting when you feel your skin after exfoliation.

Yours,

Samar

Quick outfit of the day: Shopping with the Girls

My Dearest Beauties,

For a day of shopping with the girls I like to feel comfortable without sacrificing style. I chose to go for an all black outfit with a lot of simple accessories that raise the bar.

I am wearing: black sweater from DKNY Jeans, black cropped pants from J Crew. Silver Glitter slippers from The Limited and a thin Cartier belt.

For a necklace I chose to go for natural layered pearls and four white gold rings.

This outfit is very simple and comfortable. Black screams sophistication even on those days when you are not up to putting all your effort.

As for makeup I chose to go for flawless skin with a pink flush on the cheeks and lips, without forgetting fluffly lashes.

Yours,

Samar xo

Besitos,

L’Occitane en Provence Aromachologie Repairing Shampoo & Conditioner: A Review

My Dearest Beauties,

I have been trying to grow out my hair for the past year. In the past, I always used to opt for the typical procedure of growing out hair. I used to trim the ends every two months and pray for it to gradually grow out healthily. The result always ended up being the same, my hair maintained the same length. For that reason I came to the conclusion of just going with it. I stopped cutting it about eight months ago but I didn’t stop looking for the best hair care to keep my hair in good shape. After trying lots of different products I came across the hair care at L’Occitane. For those of you that do not know L’Occitane, it is a line of cosmetics produced from natural ingredients and essential oils.
The Aromachologie Reparing shampoo and conditioner are packed with five, really effective, essential oils (Angelica, Lavender, Geranium, Ylang-ylang and Patchouli). The shampoo has a very natural and subtle aroma; it works into a really nice and rich lather that leaves my hair feeling cleansed, supple and hydrated. I have very oily hair and I usually wash it every day so I end up feeling like I have oily roots and very dry ends. This shampoo works wonders on my little problem; it doesn’t weigh down my hair down but keeps my ends feeling soft and moisturized, at the same time. After cleansing my hair I always follow with the conditioner on my ends and it definitely seals the deal. I can easily brush my hair out with rarely any trouble –mind that my hair loves to tangle. The shampoo and conditioner leave my hair soft, shiny and most importantly with healthy looking ends.
A caveat: this combo is a on the pricier end but I would say that they are so worth it if you are looking for a miracle cure or a product that keeps your hair healthy and beautiful.
Yours,
Samar xx

A Welcome Note

My Dearest Beauties,

I am Samar Naim. I am Lebanese with Venezuelan background that adores everything feminine. This is my first blog post and it is mostly a welcome note to everyone of you that are in the hunt for fun and useful product reviews or maybe outfit inspirations or even nutrition and health tips  which can give you an extra glamorous touch that I guarantee will make all the difference.

I am a fashion and style lover that loves to share thoughts and opinions on trends, outfits and everything glamorous. For that reason I invite you all to follow me on my glamorous journey. Let’s discover together all that will make us feel great and thus look our best.

Since I was young I had a passion for good taste in everything. I was always looking through my mother’s makeup and wardrobe. I even liked to decorate and organize around the house. Unfortunately I was overweight and never had enough confidence to dress the way I really wanted to or even share my views. When I was around 17 I put my foot down and started working really hard on those barriers standing tall on my way. I lost the extra weight and as time passed by my confidence rebuilt; with the growth of my confidence grew my interest in everything feminine. I don’t want this welcome post to become the story of my life but I want to be a step closer to you and set the right trust grounds to start our journey on the right foot.

Yours,

Samar xx
