Make your Eyes Appear Larger

My Dearest Beauties,

Unfortunately, not all of us were blessed with large beautiful and awake looking eyes. No worries ladies because makeup can fix everything! What you need to achieve this look is a couple of shadows (a light and a dark one), a white pencil liner, lash curlers, mascara and some brushes.

The idea behind creating the illusion of bigger and wider eyes starts with making our lids less heavy and opening up the white area of the eye.

I have my foundation all done. So I jumped right in with a light Dior eye shadow in Swan #006 and applied it on the lid only. It should look like what you see in the picture. Then I went in with a dark brown shadow from Dior in Panama #566, I applied that on my lower lash line skipping the water line. Right after that, I applied that same shadow on the crease. Your crease is the place on your eyelid that dents when you open your eyes. You will easily find it because when you place your brush, the socket will be pushed down.

It may look scary now, but that is why we need an extra clean brush. We use one brush to deposit color onto the crease and another clean fluffy brush to blend out all the edges and lines of the color applied. Blend all the dark shadow, even the one on the lower lash line. You will see it all coming into place ones you blend everything into your eyelids.

To make your eyes appear even larger, take a white eye liner pencil and apply it to the inner rims of your eyes. I used Dali Le Maquillage on #09. These pencils are very inexpensive but of very good quality. They do not move or smudge and are much pigmented.

It is very important that you give your lashes a good curl so to take the lashes away from your eyes and open them up. Use your favorite mascara on your top and bottom lashes. You might have guessed that I am using Black Lacquer Mascara by L’oreal. Now, the trick with lower lashes is to only apply them to the tips and skip the root so as to open the eyes even further.

That should be it, but if you are an eyeliner girl. I showed you how you can apply a very thin line of gel liner; extending it from the very inner corner creating a flick at the outer corner. It is very important that you keep the line as thin as possible, because again you do not want to make your eyelids any heavier. I used L'oreal Gel Intenza Eyeliner in #01 Pure Black.

Mind that I used dark shadows so that you could easily see the effect, but feel free to use your favorite eye shadow combo as long as you use the light one your lid and the dark one on your crease.

That is the complete look. I hope you liked it! Please leave your thoughts in the comments below, tell me if these tricks worked for you.

Stay beautiful,

Samar xxo
